The COLLISION REPAIR ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA was founded by five shop owners in northern California that were concerned with the state of the auto body industry. This group testified before the senate banking and finance committee regarding steering, capping and labor rate surveys. They also were the driving force behind the defeat of AB1852 the after market parts bill that was stopped after their testimony before the assembly business and professions committee. The members continued to pressure industry issues thru legislative efforts and public awareness. The members have worked closely with Senator Jackie Speier in her attempt to propose legislative remedies in regards to steering, capping and labor rate surveys. The five founding members represent over 100 years of combined experience in the auto body industry. With the formation of the association, the association has had the opportunity to affiliate itself with Allen Wood. If you don’t know Allen spent approximately 30 years with the Bureau of Automotive Repair, and was in charge of the auto repair enforcement program. Allen in support of our founding members testified at the hearings as to the issues relating to capping, steering, labor rate surveys, and aftermarket parts. Allen also brings to the association a strong understanding of regulatory issues that face shop owners. Allen provides assistance and guidance to the association on legislative and regulatory issues and is available to members to improve their own position regarding compliance with the many laws and regulations that affect auto collision repair. Your membership in this organization is vital to the future of the auto collision industry. The association is dedicated to insuring the industry is heard on issues that affect your business.
